What is Vintage
Vintage means a piece has already lived a wonderful life before you. It carries history, uniqueness, and beauty—that’s exactly why we love it so much.
At Strobe Vintage, we collect, restore, and sell treasures from the early 1900s through to the 1980s. Each piece has a story, and owning vintage allows you to carry that story forward.
Because vintage items can be decades old, they may show slight signs of age or wear—and that’s perfectly okay! We believe these small imperfections only add to their character.
We always take care to note any signs of ageing, repairs, or flaws in our descriptions, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
No vintage is perfect—and that’s what makes it truly special.
As a vintage seller, I often get asked about pricing—so I like to be open and transparent. Here’s a little insight into how it works.
Finding true vintage is becoming increasingly rare. Hours and hours are spent sourcing and hunting down the best pieces—it takes a lot of dedication, but it’s also the most exciting part of the job. Discovering those precious vintage gems makes it all worthwhile.
But my role isn’t just as a seller—I’m also a garment restorer and textile preserver. Each piece is carefully cleaned, repaired, and brought back to life before it reaches you. This process takes both time and patience.
Beyond restoration, there are many other costs that go into running Strobe Vintage, including:
-
Sourcing and travel
-
Repairs and restoration
-
Photography and styling
-
Social media and marketing
-
Dry cleaning and laundry
-
Studio utilities (electricity, water, rent)
-
Business fees and accounting (standard + tax)
All of these are factored into the final price of each item—this is simply the bare minimum needed to run a small independent business while making sure you receive high-quality, beautifully cared-for vintage.
When you shop with Strobe Vintage, you’re not just buying clothing—you’re investing in a piece of history that’s been lovingly restored for a new life.
